Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is illegal. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau casino, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences in addition to the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 tables.
